Mold Remediation | Mold Sanitization

Mold Remediation / Mold Sanitization

Before starting the mold remediation or mold sanitization process, it is important to locate and repair the moisture source contributing to the mold growth.

What is the difference between Mold Remediation & Mold Sanitization?

All mold requires a water source to grow, water intrusion from a plumbing, roof, AC leak, or tropical storm flooding, if not dried out in 48-72 hours will usually require Mold Remediation and loss of building materials and contents. Another moisture source, high sustained Relative Humidity (RH) above 55% for 4 to 6 weeks, creates a surface type mold that Mold Sanitation procedures, with less loss of materials and contents are an option.

Mold Remediation

What exactly is mold remediation?

Remediation is the process of removing damaged construction materials when they are or unsalvageable. It is done with caution due to health concerns for both the occupants and the remediation professionals performing the work.

So, what does that mean for you?

We take this serious problem and address it effectively. By following nationally recognized guidelines and protocols, we ensure no cross-contamination, the safety of occupants and workers, no unnecessary costs, and minimal inconvenience.

Mold Sanitization

What exactly is mold sanitization?

Sanitization is the reduction of the microbial population on an inanimate object to levels deemed safe by public health standards; this is usually achieved by cleaning the object with a green plant-based antimicrobial.

When it comes to IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) mold problems, sanitization involves solving the environmental issue using natural, environmentally friendly techniques rather than introducing toxic chemicals that can worsen the problem.

Many people with indoor air quality issues are allergic to the chemicals that many companies suggest as a solution. ESG supports protecting both the environment and occupant health by recommending and providing natural, holistic solutions.

So, what does this mean for you?

In many indoor environments, mold contamination has not caused significant destruction to construction materials and personal contents. What is often referred to as “surface mold” is caused by high moisture content in the air. Mold spores find the moisture they need to grow, not within the surfaces (as in a water leak), but from the air itself.
